After breakfast, we depart from Moshi and drive to Lemosho Gate for registration. The adventure begins with a gentle climb through the lush rainforest, where we’ll encounter diverse wildlife like monkeys and exotic birds. The trail is well-maintained, and the pace is comfortable, giving us time to acclimatize. By the afternoon, we arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you’ll relax and enjoy a hearty dinner after a rewarding day of trekking.
Following a nutritious breakfast, we continue through the rainforest, gradually transitioning into moorland. The trail is surrounded by dense vegetation, and the first glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro’s iconic peak begin to appear. After about 4–5 hours, we reach Shira 1 Camp, located on the vast Shira Plateau. After a well-deserved lunch, spend the afternoon soaking in the surrounding views of the plateau before settling in for the night with a delicious dinner.
Today’s hike takes us deeper into the alpine desert zone, where the terrain is more open and dry. The landscape opens up with stunning views of Kibo’s summit and the rugged terrain below. After a leisurely lunch, we continue trekking towards Shira 2 Camp, where you’ll have the rest of the day to relax, hydrate, and rest. In the evening, enjoy a filling dinner as you take in the incredible views of the high-altitude desert.
After a hearty breakfast, we continue our ascent across the Shira Plateau. We’ll make our way toward Barranco Camp, taking in expansive views of the southern glaciers. The route becomes steeper, leading to the impressive Barranco Wall, where we will scale the cliffs before descending into the lush Barranco Valley. After 5–6 hours of trekking, we’ll arrive at Barranco Camp. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch and relax before having a warm dinner under the stars.
After a nourishing breakfast, we begin the day by scaling the famous Barranco Wall. The ascent is challenging but rewarding with stunning panoramic views. After reaching the top, the trail becomes gentler as it leads through the Karanga Valley and up toward Karanga Camp. This day’s hike takes about 4–5 hours, with a picnic lunch along the way. In the afternoon, relax and take in the beautiful views before enjoying a hearty dinner at camp.
After breakfast, we make our way toward Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. The route gradually climbs through alpine desert, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscapes. The trek is shorter today, taking around 4–5 hours, allowing you to rest and prepare for the challenging final push to the summit. After a light lunch, take time to prepare your summit gear and rest before the big climb. A warm dinner will be served, and an early night is recommended.
Summit day begins at midnight with a light meal and hot drinks before heading out into the cold night. The climb to Gilman’s Point is challenging, with steep ascents and high-altitude air. After reaching Gilman’s Point, continue along the crater rim toward Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point. Enjoy panoramic views of glaciers and the crater before descending to Barafu Camp for a well-earned brunch. Afterward, continue descending to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain, where a celebratory dinner awaits.
After a well-deserved rest and breakfast, we descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate. The trail leads us through lush rainforest, and we’ll encounter wildlife along the way. Upon reaching Mweka Gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate. We’ll drive back to Moshi for a hot shower and celebrate your success with a farewell lunch before the tour concludes.
