Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Lake Manyara / Karatu Area

Your Tanzania safari adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha, where you will meet your professional safari driver-guide for a short briefing before departing toward Tarangire National Park. The scenic journey takes you through the countryside of northern Tanzania, passing local villages, agricultural landscapes, and beautiful views of the surrounding highlands. Upon arrival at Tarangire, your guide will complete the entrance formalities before you begin an exciting game drive through the park's distinctive landscapes. Famous for its enormous baobab trees and impressive elephant populations, Tarangire provides wonderful opportunities to observe elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and various antelope species. Predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs also inhabit the park, although sightings are never guaranteed.

Around midday, stop at a designated picnic area to enjoy your packed lunch while taking in the surrounding wilderness. Your afternoon game drive continues through different sections of the park, including wildlife-rich areas near the Tarangire River, which serves as an important water source during the dry season. Your guide will share fascinating insights into animal behavior, the park's ecosystems, and the importance of conservation in Tanzania. Later in the afternoon, leave Tarangire and travel toward the Lake Manyara or Karatu region, where your selected accommodation awaits. Check in, enjoy dinner, and relax after an exciting first day in the African wilderness.

Day 2

Ngorongoro Crater – Full Safari Experience

Lake Manyara / Karatu Area

After an early breakfast at your lodge, depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to one of the world's most extraordinary natural wildlife sanctuaries. As your safari vehicle climbs toward the crater highlands, enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes before reaching the famous crater rim. Here, the immense volcanic caldera stretches before you, creating a breathtaking panorama of grasslands, forests, wetlands, and distant lakes. Your guide will then descend approximately 600 meters to the crater floor, where an exceptional concentration of wildlife awaits. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos, and the endangered black rhinoceros, making it one of Tanzania's most rewarding wildlife destinations.

Spend the day exploring the crater's diverse habitats, following wildlife movements across open plains and visiting areas known for their resident animal populations. Your guide will help you identify different species and understand the ecological relationships that make this natural environment so remarkable. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site, commonly near the scenic Ngoitokitok area, before continuing your game drive within the permitted crater visit duration. In the afternoon, ascend the crater wall and begin the scenic return journey to your lodge in the Karatu or Lake Manyara region. Arrive in time to relax, enjoy dinner, and reflect on another remarkable day of wildlife encounters.

Day 3

Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha

Ends in Arusha

Begin your final safari day with breakfast at your lodge before departing for Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful wildlife destination situated beneath the dramatic cliffs of the Great Rift Valley. Although smaller than Tarangire and Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara offers remarkable ecological diversity, with lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and the expansive alkaline lake. As you enter the park, explore its forested areas, where troops of baboons, blue monkeys, and other wildlife are frequently encountered. Continue toward the more open habitats in search of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are uncommon and depend on wildlife movements.

Continue your game drive along the park's scenic routes, taking time to appreciate its diverse birdlife and beautiful natural surroundings. Depending on water levels and seasonal conditions, the lake may attract flamingos, pelicans, storks, and numerous other waterbirds. Hippos can also be observed in suitable wetland habitats. Enjoy a picnic lunch before concluding your wildlife exploration and departing for Arusha in the afternoon. Along the way, admire the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania and reflect on three days of unforgettable wildlife experiences. Upon arrival in Arusha, your guide will transfer you to your hotel or another agreed drop-off location, marking the end of your 3-day Tanzania safari with NAVOI.
